I am currently spitballing ideas for a tourney at the start of september and have come to the conclusion that Magic is probably due another event next.
what I want to know is, how many magic players are out there and are you able to play in a tournament that follows the basic standard format? (return to rav onwards)
the other subject I wanted to bring up is, would people prefer to play a tournament for free and get a 1st 2nd and 3rd place prize pool? or would people rather pay £1 on top of subs to get a slightly larger prize budget that means everyone will at least get 1 booster for playing?
Let me know your opinions asap so I can get the ball rolling.

so if you play please speak up so I can get an idea as to the number of players.
I dont have a regular opponent and dont know the card gamers so kinda been left on the back burner.
If i can get some games in and back up to speed i maybe be interested?
Depends on work really.
if i can make it down i will drop you and fern a txt
Format issues may be harder to control for most casual magic players just play with whatever they happen to own, standard also harder to keep up with on a budget. maybe worth asking around as to what peeps have to play with in order to gauge the best format choice.

Cheap decks easy to get hold of for standard format would do well in the tourney. there you go!
Just need to get some games in now ....
Tourney will be in standard (return to rav onwards), I still have to discuss prizes/costs, but its looking like £1.50 per entry (not bad considering I want everyone to at least get 1 booster)
I will also be needing deck lists in by next monday so I know just how many people are actually playing.
printing one out done on the computer is fine too.
I will need a solid copy of the list though, as then I can archive it after the tourney.
better to have lots of happy players than a few who have all the newest cards
hopefully this tourney should go off without a hitch.
also thank you lauren and si for explaining stuff a bit more, it makes a lot more sense now and also helps me out a lot. cheers mateys.
yeah the tourney is tomorrow ¬_¬ bit short notice but I'm pretty sure I told james last time I saw him in town (a couple of days ago)
